Our 115,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries. We are seeking a Sr Facilities Technician to support our Electrophysiology medical device business. This position is based at our three-building site in Little Canada. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance or automation environment.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair Facility equipment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance terminology, tools, and processes.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience working with maintenance software systems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written procedures with accuracy.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Must have a minimum of a special boilers licenses or ability to obtain a boiler license within one year of employment. Must maintain this license going forward.
  • Utilizing systems and software including Microsoft Office, SAP, Windchill, and Infor EAM (CMMS)

  • General knowledge of heating and cooling systems for general facilities operations and controlled environment operations

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance, including repairs, installations, modifications, and safety checks on facility equipment.
  • Documenting maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Responsible for repairs to buildings including, but not limited to, repairs to walls, ceilings, doors, painting, etc.
  • Repairs single and three phase electrical systems, such as air compressors, hydraulic pumps and three phase motors including HVAC and plumbing repairs.
  • Helps manage the treatment and purity of cooling water systems related to HVAC condenser water and chill water processes.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and hydraulic schematics
  • Maintains HVAC equipment associated with Data centers such as Generators, UPS units, power distribution units, chillers , Liebert units, gas release fire suppression systems.
