About The Position

Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. The Facilities team ensures that every operation across the site is “go” at all times, supporting everything from power and utilities to highly specialized machines like industrial 3D printers. Our 1 million square foot headquarters is complex, with one structure functionally housing 20 mini factories. With rapid expansion and development of the facility, we’re helping build a truly state-of-the-art work environment. This team is deeply embedded in both planning and execution, brought in early to shape the physical assets that will support scaled operations. This is a 2nd shift position with a standard schedule of 3:00PM-1:30AM, Monday through Friday, with a 10% differential on top of the base rate. This position is structured around a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level or higher
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to complete assigned shifts.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate 50 pounds.
  • Work from heights and on ladders as well as squatting, stooping and/or kneeling with a tool belt.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Periodic or frequent work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain
  • Valid California state driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Willingness and ability to pass in-house Forklift certification, required

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10 years experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in maintenance, construction, and/or repair
  • Experience as a mechanic, carpenter
  • Experience with inventory receiving and tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with heavy equipment (forklift, reach-lift, man-lift, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing systems.
  • Maintain general consumable stock items.
  • Organize and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain general site surroundings and facilities.
  • Site maintenance.
  • Moves materials through use of equipment moving machinery such as hand trucks, forklifts, and golf carts.
  • Provides recommendations for facilities improvements.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
