About The Position

Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Senior Fabrication Technician I. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility and is responsible for the manufacturing of weldments, aneroid production, and mechanical soldering of parts which will later be assembled into aerospace products within the Space, Life Support and Actuation programs. Technicians are responsible for performing routine maintenance, collaborating with team members, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  • 4 years of relevant fabrication (weld, solder, braze)/ manufacturing experience or 6 years combined fabrication (weld, solder, braze)/manufacturing & Military experience
  • Working knowledge of using metal joining process (solder, GTAW, braze), various hand tools and measuring equipment.

  • 6 years of relevant fabrication (weld, solder, braze)/manufacturing experience
  • Able to communicate effectively, manage time and adapt to various work environments.
  • Able to complete all required technical skills associated with the job
  • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
  • Possess knowledge/experience with fabrication processes (weld/solder/braze). Ability to setup and evaluate complex welding systems, use specialized tools, taps, thread gauges, and measuring equipment.
  • Be able to share knowledge and guide technicians of lower and current level.
  • Independently perform moderate and begins high complexity fabrication operations following written instructions.
  • Be able to complete certification for fabrication inspection processes including braze, solder, and weld.
  • Understand product quality requirements and follow non-conforming material processes. Reports findings to team and generates non-conforming hardware documentation.
  • Support Team/Engineering with inspection and rework
