About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. We are presently seeking a Senior Fabrication Process Engineer who will sustain and improve fabrication processes for the successful execution of production optics manufacturing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.)

Nice To Haves

10+ years of optical component fabrication experience desirable.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software desirable.
Proficiency with SPC desirable.
Experience with optical alignment and bonding desirable.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical subject matter expert for optical component fabrication processes.
Create and improve documentation for the manufacturing of optical components.
Provide hands-on engineering support and train technicians on fabrication process execution.
Monitor and drive improvement of production fabrication processes and equipment using SPC.
Support troubleshooting of existing fabrication processes.
Review, disposition, and reduce non-conforming material.
Assist in the transfer of optical fabrication process technologies from R&D to production.
Identify, justify, and qualify new equipment into production.
Perform other duties as assigned.
