About The Position

The Senior Event Specialist role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing small to mid-tier events that advance organizational goals and elevate the brand experience. This role will lead and support a wide range of corporate events. This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship. Position requires to be onsite in San Diego, 5 days a week. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver seamless, meaningful, and innovative event experiences. This role oversees all phases of event development - from initial concept and budgeting through on‑site execution and post‑event evaluation - ensuring every detail aligns with project scope, vision, and budget. Success in this role requires strong project management skills, exceptional communication, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a solutions‑oriented mindset in fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environments.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of corporate event planning experience.
  • Experience leading different types of events including hospitality, corporate functions and tradeshows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations through thoughtful planning and execution.
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver organized, strategic solutions under time‑sensitive conditions.
  • General technical awareness, including familiarity with Qualcomm products, electronics, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to plan and execute events that align with program objectives, brand vision, and budget requirements.
  • Provide support to management on larger scale events; manage event platforms such as c-event, shipping logistics, merchandising, room blocks, etc.
  • Research, source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Responsible for full scope of smaller scale events including housing, entertainment, food & beverage, audiovisual, promotional items, signage, and transportation.
  • Travel as needed - including weekends and holidays - to oversee or support on‑site event execution, proactively adapting to changing conditions and stepping into operational roles when required.
  • Manage event logistics, project timelines, and internal process adherence while ensuring effective cross‑functional communication across marketing and other Qualcomm departments.
  • Oversee event budgeting and invoicing, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with internal guidelines.
