The Senior Event Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing high-quality events while overseeing all aspects of event operations, including client relations, budgeting, vendor coordination, and on-site execution. Central to this role is the comprehensive management of the Misselwood beverage program. The Senior Event Operations Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle of bar operations—from the creative development of tiered libation stations and menu pricing to the hands-on supervision, scheduling, and training of the bartending team—ensuring that every drink served meets our high standards for hospitality, safety, and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience planning and executing events, including weddings, corporate, and social gatherings.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bar management, including staff supervision, inventory control, customer service, and daily operations oversight.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience supervising and training staff, including seasonal teams, to ensure high standards of service and professionalism.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and remain composed under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and adaptability to new platforms.
  • Ability to take initiative, think proactively, and maintain professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to timely and respectful communication, including responding to emails and voicemails.
  • ServSafe, Crowd Manager, and AED/CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics for various event types, including: Weddings, personal and corporate socials, Day and multi-day meetings, overnight programs, Misselwood hosted events and College/Internal events.
  • Provide unparalleled service throughout the coordinator and implementation process.
  • Serve as the trusted point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and capturing detailed requirements for housing, catering, alcohol service, and AV needs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to flawlessly execute each event, creating excellent guest and customer experiences.
  • Provide exceptional on-site management for meetings, social events, and overnight programs, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Oversee and ensure timely preparation and delivery of billing documentation.
  • Oversee the bartending staff, including the creation and management of their work schedules and the implementation of comprehensive training programs.
  • Manage the menu for libation stations, including the creation and pricing of tiered stations based on specific liquor and wine selections.
  • Manage liquor ordering, inventory control, and vendor relationships to ensure preparedness and accuracy.
  • Train staff on service standards, safety, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Develop beverage programs, pricing strategies, and cost controls to maintain operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of day-to-day operations to maintain high standards.
  • Assist with onboarding of new Operations team members.
  • Assist with supervising and mentoring of seasonal staff, fostering a collaborative and professional team environment.
  • Scheduling of seasonal operations staff.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends to enhance operational processes.
  • Perform additional duties, operational responsibilities, and special projects as assigned or needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
