About The Position

Langley Federal Credit Union is seeking a full-time Senior ETL Administrator to work hybrid from their City Center location in Newport News, VA. This role involves designing, creating, administering, and monitoring business process data extracts for loading into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) or similar repositories. The position requires troubleshooting and resolving ETL and data movement issues, aggregating data from multiple sources, and maintaining a detailed knowledge base of data structures. Collaboration with Data Science team members, Database Administrators, and business unit stakeholders is essential for designing ETL data-related solutions.

Requirements

Four-year degree from a college or university specializing in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related field; or equivalent combination of working experience/training.
Five years of experience with Database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) related to data warehousing concepts and methodologies is required.
Five years of experience in ETL development and administration with expertise in one or more ETL tools is required such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSIS, etc.
At least one year of knowledge related to data modeling and data integration best practices is required.
At least one year of knowledge related to data governance, data security, and data quality principles is required.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues.
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new tools quickly.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment working with Configuration Management tools (i.e., Bitbucket, Bamboo, GitHub) preferred.
Microsoft certification relevant to the database administration field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Enforces data governance policies, access controls, and data security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain data compliance.
Provides support for the SQL Server-based Data Warehouse ETL processes as needed.
Creates, configures, deploys, and maintains ETL ingestion processes for collecting and/or aggregating data into a database, data warehouse or other multidimensional database structures.
Performs root cause analysis on processes to resolve production issues related to the support of ETL applications.
Monitors and maintains nightly data processing jobs for success. Proactively troubleshoots and rectifies any failures or production issues.
Analyzes and plans storage requirements for data warehouse systems.
Works with the database administrators to configure, deploy, and maintain data warehouse or other multidimensional database servers.
Uses SQL data warehouse tools to maintain integrity between various Langley FCU disparate systems.
Implements ETL procedures for all new data ingestions into the Enterprise Data Warehouse and maintains effective awareness of all production activities according to required standards and provides support to all existing applications.
Performs tests, validates all data flows, and prepares all ETL ingestion processes according to business requirements; incorporates all business requirements into all design specifications.
Creates supporting documentation, such as metadata and diagrams of entity relationships, business processes, and process flow.
Creates plans and tests files and scripts for data warehouse testing, ranging from unit to integration testing.
Maintains confidentiality, availability, accuracy, and integrity of all data during extraction, transformation, and loading.
