About The Position

The Senior Estimator is a key contributor responsible for preparing detailed electrical estimates across a variety of projects. This role involves interpreting blueprints, performing quantity take-offs, and coordinating closely with project teams to ensure accurate and timely project bids. This position will play an active role in mentoring and developing new estimators to support team growth and success. Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • 8+ years experience in electrical construction estimating
  • Ability to read and understand various construction documents proficiently
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Strong self-motivation, work ethic, and drive for career growth
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of the company and customers
  • Highly detail oriented and organized person able to manage priorities with awareness of deadlines and expectations
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and customer requirements and to assist team members

Nice To Haves

  • Higher education in Architectural Technology (or related) OR equivalent experience preferred
  • Exposure to or experience working with estimating software preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical construction preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collect, calculate, and compile data for use in bid proposals, including labor, materials, and project timelines
  • Solicit, organize, and evaluate vendor pricing for lighting, gear, generators, controls, and specialty equipment.
  • Request, track and evaluate all subcontractor systems pricing needed or required
  • Independently prepare both routine and complex electrical estimates
  • Contribute to conceptual and early stage budgets using partial designs or narratives.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawing, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine full scope of work
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare complete estimates for all types of electrical construction projects
  • Prepare and present detailed estimate breakdown to Project Managers and operational leaders
  • Review final bids and proposals, ensuring internal review processes are completed with all supporting documentation for executive and branch-level review
  • Ensure accurate and organized recordkeeping of drawings, estimates, correspondence, and other project documentation
  • Regularly update estimate files, drawing logs, and cost data to reflect the most current project and market conditions
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency through creative redesigns and value engineering solutions
  • Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and constructability concerns.
  • Continuously improve estimating workflows, systems, and processes for increased accuracy and efficiency
  • Guide portions of the estimating effort on assigned projects by distributing tasks to team members
  • Participate in bid reviews for projects
  • Participate in ongoing training in National Electrical Code, commercial building and lighting systems, design/build workflows, and estimating methods.
