The Senior Estimator will actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” This role represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” The Senior Estimator will discern take-off elements of the work accurately and assign them to the appropriate items in the database, making recommendations about how to change standard database items to more closely reflect field conditions. They will solicit subcontract and vendor pricing utilizing uniform corporate structure and evaluate returned bids for completeness. This role identifies deficiencies in the RFx, Scope of Work (SOW) and drawings and implements strategies to mitigate. The Senior Estimator understands the need for evaluating and incorporating team clarifications, and drafts/edits clarifications as needed. They develop quantity-based estimates from partial or limited data and/or information, and EPC estimates based on limited information, including generating take-offs from sketches, Plot plans and P&IDs. This role monitors the scope of the project to ensure that all trades have been coordinated and a complete project is being evaluated. They ensure that estimates are generated in a way that allows take-offs and pricing to be traced directly back to a defining document, line item, scope of work as well as applicable bid tabs. The Senior Estimator prepares bridging documents demonstrating an understanding of how historical estimated and actual costs have changed from previous estimates. They participate in estimate, proposal and constructability reviews as well as cost and schedule saving enhancement discussions for constructability assessments, e.g., execution plan(s), installation access, manlifts, scaffolding, cranes, etc. This role organizes the estimate in a manner required to meet the needs of the project. They estimate the requirements for craft support labor, staff, tagged equipment, subcontracts, materials, construction equipment, indirect costs and facilities based on analyzing crew sizes for each direct craft as well as consolidated. The Senior Estimator develops preliminary lifting plans and selects appropriate cranes and other equipment to perform the work. They assist the effort to generate an appropriately detailed resource loaded preliminary schedule and understand the principles of project cash flow. This role develops risk ranging analysis for elements of the project and uses that to assign contingency. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
