About The Position

CK Contractors and Development, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team. This full-time, exempt position is responsible for estimating the work of particular projects by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and other related documents. The Senior Estimator will evaluate, research, and analyze bid documents, site conditions, drawings, and specifications, perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics, and obtain subcontractor and material quotes while seeking potential cost savings. The role involves developing pricing for proposed work, maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors, presenting estimates to management, and preparing turnover meetings and documents for Project Managers and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple bids and projects at the same time.
  • In-depth knowledge of bidding process.
  • Hands-on experience with complex data research activities.
  • Strong computer skills; Experience with bidding software, such as Bid2Win, and AGTEK software.
  • Basic Geometry and math skills.
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing with employees at all levels.
  • Three (3) or more years of construction estimating experience.
  • Established relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and developers in the Charlotte market.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to underground heavy civil utility construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, research, and analyze bid documents, site condition, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics.
  • Obtain subcontractor and material quotes; seek potential cost savings.
  • Develop pricing for proposed work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Present prepared estimates to management.
  • Prepare and schedule turn over meetings and documents to ensure that the Project Managers and operations teams understand the entire scope of work, budgets, productions, and schedules prior to the start of construction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
