About The Position

The Senior Plumbing Estimator plays a critical role in managing the estimating process for plumbing and mechanical contracting projects. This includes preparing detailed bid packages, working with subcontractors, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of project estimates. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in plumbing estimating.

Requirements

5+ years of plumbing estimating experience.
Proficiency in estimating software such as Autobid, FastPIPE, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all levels of management.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Experience in business development, including building relationships with existing and new clients, is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or mechanical engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage estimates for assigned projects, including creating detailed bid packages and project budgets.
Develop scope documents for subcontractors, review bids for completeness, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Attend change order meetings and support project managers in validating and pricing changes across multiple projects.
Lead scope and estimate review meetings, ensuring thorough and accurate estimates.
Mentor and support the training of junior staff members.
Foster and develop vendor relationships to support project success.
Participate in business development activities, helping to grow existing and new client relationships.
Maintain excellent communication and organization, ensuring effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
