Organization: HealthIT Cogito Sys & Epic ODBA Job Summary: The Senior Epic ODBA is responsible for the administration, optimization, and maintenance of IRIS databases to ensure data integrity, system stability, and optimal performance. This role requires a strong understanding of IRIS database and Linux technologies and the ability to work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals.

Requirements

  • Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) Certification (required)
  • 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Epic Operational Database Administrator
  • Strong experience supporting large-scale Epic production environments
  • Epic Operational Database Administration Certification
  • Strong Linux/Unix skills with shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of a command shell plus languages and utilities such as ask, sed, and Perl

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ECP is plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform core database administration duties for Epic environments, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Support Epic upgrades, environment refreshes, and routine system health checks
  • Manage database security, performance, and integrity across multiple environments
  • Collaborate with technical and application teams to resolve system issues efficiently
  • Execute and document standard change management procedures
  • Provide proactive support for optimization and environment stability
  • Test and document disaster recovery procedures
