About The Position

WSP's RPM team is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join their Remediation Program Management team. This role involves managing the risk and closure of contaminated sites, designing and overseeing field work for monitoring, investigating, and remediating sites impacted by hydrocarbons, fertilizers, and metals, and preparing technical reports. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong time management and communication skills. The RPM team has a consistent backlog of 9-12 months and specializes in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment, and remediation, working on large Canadian projects from coast to coast.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have a professional designation.
  • 5 to 10 years experience in project management.
  • Environmental industry experience an asset.
  • Health and safety training related to the oil and gas industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage risk and closure of contaminated sites.
  • Design and oversee field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline crude oil etc.), fertilizers and metals.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Apply and expand client delivery, project delivery, and financial acumen skills.
  • Clearly identify and help the project team understand project schedule and objectives, monitoring project performance and health.
  • Assemble a team including technical experts to support client solutions.
  • Be a mentor to new team members within WSP, sharing project management experiences and knowledge.
  • Review and enhance project health and safety plans, guided by the Zero Harm policy and rigorous Health, Safety and Environment standards.
  • Participate and be a member of a client-specific delivery team.
  • Leverage the experience and expertise of the entire RPM group.
  • Engage with a Practice Area Network (PAN) to address complex technical issues.
  • Lead interesting and technically challenging environmental projects in Western and Northern Canada.
