About The Position

The Senior EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization’s environmental and safety systems. The role involves the administration, maintenance, and improvement of environmental and safety processes while driving continuous improvements and ensuring local, state, and federal regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Occupational Safety, EHS or related field OR equivalent combination of education + experience
  • 5-8 years in safety, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience: Leading safety programs
  • Demonstrated experience: Conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated experience: Managing OSHA compliance and audits
  • Demonstrated experience: Driving safety culture improvements
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition and risk assessment, LOTO, fall protection, PPE and industrial hygiene basics
  • Technical knowledge of incident investigation methodologies, workers' compensation and environmental compliance

  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization complies with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety requirements.
  • Direct internal audits and assist with external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain and publish plant-wide environmental and safety metrics.
  • Submit all required data and reports for required permits and compliance documentation on time.
  • Ensure action plans and completion dates are set for improvements where needed.
  • Oversee and manage the environmental and safety systems to ensure that the processes and procedures align with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain and update documentation, procedures, and records as needed.
  • Establish processes to collect and report data in support of compliance.
  • Provide training to employees on environmental and safety processes and systems, ensuring each team member understands their role in compliance.
  • Promote safety awareness and best practices across the facility.
  • Enhance and support Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) initiatives for new equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance system effectiveness, safety performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and testing of Emergency Response Plans related to environmental incidents, hazardous materials, and facility safety.
  • Encourage proactive behaviors and practices that integrate safety into all day-to-day operations.
  • Focus on improving ergonomics across all departments within PTMW.
  • Proactively identify environmental and workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Establish JSA’s where needed.
  • Investigate and prevent incidents by maintaining strong controls, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Facilitate safety awareness activities quarterly.
  • Ensure employees are trained in relevant safety practices and emergency procedures related to environmental systems and risks.
  • Monitor safety KPIs and contribute to reducing injury rates and improving compliance scores over time.
