The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing Guardant Health policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role supports Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations at Guardant Health's Corporate Headquarters and ancillary sites, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The specialist will serve as a trusted resource, providing guidance and recommendations on EHS matters to cross-functional teams. They will maintain and enhance EHS policies, procedures, and programs, and support internal, external, and regulatory compliance audits and inspections, assisting with the resolution of findings. The position involves conducting routine facility inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards, recommending corrective actions, and developing inspection schedules. Training employees on safety, emergency response, and hazardous materials is a key responsibility, as is monitoring compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation are also part of the role. The specialist will ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and accessible, and manage records related to hazardous waste, employee exposure, and environmental compliance. Collaboration with various departments like Facilities, Laboratory Operations, Engineering, and People Operations is essential for supporting EHS initiatives. Staying current with regulations and recommending policy updates is expected, as is providing guidance to less experienced team members. Other related duties may be assigned.
