About The Position

ICF seeks a Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist to provide project management and technical support for our EPA projects with the Office of Superfund and Emergency Management (OSEM), Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization (OBLR), and Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery (ORCR). The ideal candidate has experience leading EPA in remediation of Superfund sites including mining sites.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, science or similar discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience conducting site characterization and remediation of Superfund, Brownfields, and other contaminated sites.
Team player with demonstrated project management skills including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with clients.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with remediation of mining sites and the unique challenges associated with mining sites and mining influenced water.
Knowledge of EPA Superfund cleanup program and policies.
Experience in cost estimation related to environmental characterization and cleanup programs, as well as with the development and decommissioning of renewable energy projects.
Expertise in developing technical deliverables and training materials.

Responsibilities

Leverage hands-on knowledge and experience with site characterization and remediation technologies to promote improvements to the cleanup of Superfund sites.
Lead and support technology transfer and training by identifying and evaluating ways to advance contaminated site cleanup including innovative technologies, approaches, strategies, and best practices.
Lead technical support developing conceptual site models, site strategies, optimization recommendations, assisting with systematic project planning, and cost estimation.
Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and client engagement.
