About The Position

Provide manufacturing facility support for the ongoing compliance with environmental rules and regulations pertaining to air quality. Ensure that all control, monitoring, record keeping, and reporting requirements related to the area of responsibility are satisfied. Maintain internal relationships with refinery personnel and establish external relationships with regulatory representatives. Interact and coordinate construction projects with agencies, consulting firms, and contractors. Ensure compliance by developing and/or implementing compliance systems and tools. A high degree of auditing and data review is required. Specific job duties include overseeing the refinery air permitting and compliance, emissions monitoring (CEMS), and emissions source testing (stack testing and RATA testing) programs, refinery MACT compliance and reporting, and other environmental report development/implementation. The successful candidate will have the ability to oversee multiple contractors and develop and maintain good working relationships within the refinery organization and with agency regulators. Timely preparation and submission of required reports, with coordinated input from relevant areas of expertise is necessary.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Science is required
  • Proficiency with data handling tools, data historian, process variable, and calculations
  • Experience with air regulations, including PSD/NSR, CAA, NESHAP, MACT, and developing EJ regulations is required
  • Familiarity with New Jersey Environmental Codes and permitting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret process data, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is required
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required
  • Proficiency with basic computerized office systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel is required

Nice To Haves

  • A B.S. in Chemical Engineering is preferred
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant environmental, refining, petrochemical or chemical industry experience is preferred
