About The Position

The Solution Architect ensures applications and servers are built using best practices and reusable approaches, and that technology is used to meet business needs. The role supports the client’s commitment to designing and building projects that align with Enterprise Architecture. It requires strategic and tactical thinking, including developing short-term solutions that complement longer-term goals. The architect serves as a change agent who challenges the status quo and helps the team adopt improved methods and newer technologies.

The Solution Architect is responsible for meeting with and presenting to the Enterprise Architecture Review Council to obtain approval and advice from across IT, helping ensure sustainable services and applications are created.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight to fifteen years of experience across multiple IT areas.
• Five to seven years of relevant technology architecture experience.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Solution Architect for two or more large-scale, heterogeneous IT programs.
• Demonstrated success developing solutions that solve business problems.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing SOA and services in an enterprise setting.
• Travel industry experience.
• Broad IT experience across technologies ranging from IBM Mainframe and TPF to JEE, Microsoft .NET, eCommerce, and networking.
• Demonstrated knowledge of an enterprise architecture framework.
