About The Position

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer to join their team. This role involves assessing prospect technical requirements and applying extensive knowledge of Chainguard products to demonstrate how the solution meets client needs. The Sales Engineer will cultivate relationships with decision-makers, negotiate competing stakeholder needs, and secure technical wins through methods like demos, RFP/RFI responses, lead POVs, collaborating with engineering for feature requests, and participating in industry events. The goal is to help customers evaluate and prove the value of Chainguard's solution, focusing on acquiring new enterprise and mid-market customers while also growing the existing customer base. The role requires owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities and ensuring current customers understand the value of Chainguard.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sales Engineer / Pre-Sales Engineer
  • Experience with MEDDPICC and or Command of the Message sales frameworks
  • Experience selling into Enterprise (5+ years) and Mid Market prospects
  • Experience in Container technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Docker)
  • Experience in Cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
  • Experience in Cloud security or containers security
  • Experience in App Security
  • Startup experience

  • Strong team players committed to help and mentor their peers.
  • Must be located in New York

Responsibilities

  • Assess a prospect’s technical requirements and apply extensive knowledge of Chainguard products to illustrate how a deal will satisfy the client’s unmet needs.
  • Cultivate relationships with decision-makers at all levels of an organization.
  • Negotiate the competing needs of multiple stakeholders within an organization.
  • Secure technical wins using methods such as demos, RFP/RFI responses, lead POVs.
  • Partner with engineering for requested features.
  • Participate in conferences and industry events (when applicable).
  • Partner with our Sales Team to help customers evaluate and prove the value of our solution.
  • Focus on acquiring new customer “logos” in addition to growing existing customer base.
  • Own all technical aspects of sales opportunities and assisting current customers understand the value of Chainguard.
  • Listen to our customers and understand their challenges.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and POVs/POCs.
  • Actively participate in webinars, meetups, conferences and other marketing initiatives.
