Senior Enterprise Data Risk Oversight Manager

Truist•Atlanta, GA
•$170,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Provides senior-level risk oversight and insight to support implementation of the second-line-of-defense Enterprise Data Risk Oversight (EDRO) Program across the Enterprise Data Office and other enterprise areas. The role calls for technical depth in data platforms, data architecture, and artificial intelligence, including Generative AI and Agentic AI, to deliver credible oversight of technology-driven data environments and AI use cases. The leader anticipates how emerging technologies affect enterprise risk, turns those insights into oversight strategy, and develops the technical fluency of the EDRO team. The role maintains knowledge of data-related AI/ML technologies, associated risks, and regulatory developments, and translates that knowledge into risk practices, governance improvements, and team capability development. The position evaluates technical data risk mitigants across the data lifecycle, including safeguards for data protection, privacy, use, retention, storage, resiliency, deletion, lineage, quality, and recovery. It assesses how controls are designed, implemented, monitored, and measured, and challenges their effectiveness, limitations, residual risks, and alignment with business and regulatory objectives. Working with the first-line Enterprise Data Office, Corporate Function Data Executive Leaders, Data Stewards, and other senior and executive stakeholders, the role influences and coordinates plans and activities to deliver program priorities. It ensures that resources, expertise, processes, practices, tools, and capabilities are developed and aligned to meet program goals. The role leads EDRO coverage and operating-model execution, provides risk advisory and independent assessment, supports policy and standards development, drives issue remediation and risk reporting, and promotes risk culture while preserving second-line independence.
