About The Position

Join SEAS (Shared Enterprise Application Services) team as a Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer, to manage, support, and optimize our enterprise file transmission and B2B integration platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Seeburger Business Integration Suite (BIS), managed file transfer (MFT), and EDI/B2B communications to ensure reliable, secure data exchange between internal systems and external trading partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field (or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python), SQL, and have solid knowledge of networking and security fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, firewalls).
  • 2+ years of proven experience managing file transfer (MFT) platforms or B2B/EDI integration solutions.
  • Fluent in industry standards (X12, EDIFACT) and protocols (AS2, SFTP), and you understand the nuances of secure data exchange.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with the skill of explaining complex technical concepts in plain language.
  • Thrive in cross-functional collaboration and bridge the gap between technical and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building complex, intelligent workflows using Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell
  • Comfortable with AWS/Azure environments and modern API architectures (SOAP, REST)
  • Certifications or expertise in security frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR, CISSP, CompTIA Security+)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 99.9%+ uptime of the Seeburger BIS platform (MFT, EDI, API Gateway) through daily monitoring, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and preventive root cause analysis.
  • Onboard and maintain external partners by configuring communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S), managing certificates, resolving transmission issues, and documenting specifications.
  • Design and maintain the technical infrastructure through message mapping, workflow automation, custom scripting (JavaScript, BeanShell, PowerShell), adapter configuration, and data validation.
  • Manage SSL/TLS certificates, ensure regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR), implement encryption, conduct security audits, and respond to incidents.
  • Set up monitoring dashboards, analyze system performance, tune configurations, generate reports, and resolve bottlenecks to maximize efficiency.
  • Create runbooks and SOPs, maintain change logs, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on platform upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery planning, and vendor coordination while mentoring junior team members.
