About The Position
NV5 is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician for its Charlotte, NC location. This role is also open to candidates in Fayetteville, NC; Rocky Mount, NC; and Burlington, NC. The primary responsibilities include monitoring construction site activities and performing tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials. The company will provide a truck, phone, and safety equipment from the office.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Basic math and writing skills
- Strong work ethics
- Ability to work as a team player
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.
- Offer is contingent on background report
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Performs In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method.
- Aggregate Sampling.
- Concrete/Grout/Masonry sampling (including: air content; slump testing; visual observations; casting samples of concrete cylinders, mortar cubes, and grout prisms; and obtaining core samples).
- May perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring.
