About The Position

This position is for a Senior Engineering Project Assistant (EPA) at Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company. The role is based onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and requires U.S. citizenship due to access to program/contract information. The EPA will provide hardware development support in the Manufacturing and Operations area for Gen6, Manpack, and Comm-Tac, along with other peripheral support. Key responsibilities include serving as the engineering build and material coordinator and engineering liaison. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive, capable of meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and possesses strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Ordering and tracking parts
  • BOM creation
  • Tracking/managing short lead time simulations, creating routes and reports for yield and defects configuration and serialization
  • Facilitating PREP reviews
  • Releasing drawings/documents
  • Edits format of required documentation
  • Interfaces with technicians, engineers and engineering managers to create/ edit documentation
  • Assists in tracking action items, risk management tools, and tasks in the change management tools
  • Networks with both internal and external personnel at multiple levels in own area of expertise
  • Represents organization as a prime contact on projects, often coordinating activities of support personnel and communicating effectively
  • Obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature
  • Generally, works on moderately difficult assignments which are given in terms of objectives to be accomplished and priorities to be followed
  • Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
  • Leads and runs Change Control Board meetings
  • Other general support as requested
