About The Position

The Senior Engineering Process Specialist is responsible for leading and managing the Engineering Process Specialist team while serving as the primary owner of engineering process governance, project execution compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Engineering organization. This role partners closely with Engineering leadership, Project Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to establish, standardize, and continuously improve engineering processes, systems, and workflows. The Senior Engineering Process Specialist ensures engineering teams execute project deliverables in accordance with established standards, customer requirements, and business objectives. The position serves as a key advisor to the VP of Engineering by providing visibility into engineering performance, resource constraints, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities that impact project delivery, quality, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering operations, engineering process management, project coordination, manufacturing operations, or continuous improvement roles.
  • 3+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team management experience preferred.
  • Experience implementing and improving engineering processes in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
  • Experience with change management, document control, engineering release processes, and project execution methodologies.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, PLM, CAD, and document management systems preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Engineering Process Specialist team, including workload prioritization, performance coaching, and professional development.
  • Establish, deploy, and maintain standardized engineering processes, procedures, and work instructions across all engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering design release, change management, document control, and project execution processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership to develop scalable processes that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Review and approve process changes while ensuring stakeholder alignment and organizational adoption.
  • Champion process standardization across multiple facilities and engineering teams.
  • Monitor engineering project execution and provide visibility into project status, milestone adherence, engineering deliverables, and resource constraints.
  • Coordinate engineering priorities with department managers and project stakeholders to ensure timely project execution.
  • Facilitate engineering readiness reviews, design release reviews, and project milestone assessments.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and escalate risks that may impact schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Drive accountability for compliance to established engineering processes and project requirements.
  • Lead engineering continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Analyze engineering workflows and performance metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action initiatives related to engineering, quality, and production issues.
  • Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to reduce non-conformances, rework, and engineering-related defects.
  • Develop business cases and implementation plans for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Own engineering performance metrics and KPI reporting for leadership review.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that track engineering productivity, project execution, change management performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze trends and provide recommendations to improve engineering effectiveness and project delivery performance.
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of engineering data within ERP, PLM, CAD, and document management systems.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for the VP of Engineering and senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Engineering and other functional departments regarding processes, systems, and project execution.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings focused on process improvements, issue resolution, and organizational alignment.
  • Coordinate training and change management activities associated with new engineering processes, tools, and systems.
  • Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Management teams.
