Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform

Duolingo•Pittsburgh, PA
•$204,000 - $306,000

About The Position

Duolingo is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Experiments Team and oversee the A/B testing system that powers the product development lifecycle. The role manages Duolingo’s in-house Experiment Platform, which defines experiments, executes them in the app, and measures their outcomes. Although platform-focused, the position stays closely connected to product teams across Duolingo and helps shape how A/B testing is used to improve the learner experience. The manager will expand the platform to support more sophisticated A/B tests and statistical methods, help teams evaluate metrics and gate access to new functionality, and enable faster feature shipping through experiment automation and backend-based control of the learner experience. The role will also scale the platform to support significantly increased experiment velocity in a statistically sound and cost-efficient way, and partner with product teams on measurement approaches and experiment strategy. The position can be based in or relocated to Pittsburgh, PA, or New York, NY. Base salary is supplemented by equity compensation. The posted base salary range is $204,000–$306,000 USD, and the actual offer depends on factors including work experience, skills, and internal peer comparisons.
