Cloudflare’s Billing Engineering Team is at the heart of every product launch, campaign, and initiative that Cloudflare undertakes. We build and maintain critical systems for billing, payments, usage metering, aggregation, invoicing and revenue recognition — powering billions in revenue and serving millions of customers. Currently we're rebuilding our entire billing platform, designing a metering and aggregation layer that scales effortlessly while ensuring financial accuracy. This is high-impact, high-stakes work that touches all Cloudflare’s cutting-edge products like AI, Zero Trust, Edge Compute, Bot Management, DDoS Protection, etc. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented, collaborative engineers working across Cloudflare’s ecosystem. You’ll navigate multiple high-profile projects, foster a culture of proactive communication and continuous learning, and drive technical excellence. Requirements

Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and clearly creating and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts.
Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds the backend systems and frontend parts of the product.
Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
Comfortable building developer-loved APIs that scale.
Demonstrate a track record of leading a team including hiring, on-boarding, and professional development.
Inspire your team to reach higher.
As good as explaining “why” as you are “how”.
Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
Comfortable managing teams/projections with tight deadlines and short release cycles.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building and maintaining Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure.
Oversee the development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure that handles everything related to Cloudflare’s revenue.
Play a key role in rebuilding our entire billing platform, designing a next-generation financial infrastructure that ensures financial accuracy and seamless performance.
Drive the execution of complex technical initiatives, ensuring our architecture is resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
Focus on growing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team.
Set clear expectations, provide thoughtful feedback, and create an environment where engineers can thrive.
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, finance, data science, operations and support departments to align technical decisions with business objectives.
