About The Position

LiveRamp is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Activation platform, which delivers audience data to media, cloud, and measurement destinations. The role owns three teams—Activation Backend, Integration Core, and Integration Feature—with approximately 20–25 engineers across the US and India. The platform runs distribution, matching, refresh, and destination integration workflows, processing more than 5 petabytes of audience data each day. The manager is accountable for platform reliability, speed, cost, partner integrations, and technical direction. Priorities include migrating workflows to Temporal, expanding self-service capabilities, defining the reference architecture, reducing delivery turnaround time and duplicate data, and introducing MCP interfaces and agent-driven workflows. The role also leads incident response and partners with Product, Quality Engineering, Support, and platform teams on priorities, quality gates, and on-call processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams.
  • Experience leading 15+ engineers, including managing managers or tech leads, and developing senior technical talent.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed data systems in a public cloud, including data pipelines and workflow orchestration.
  • Experience owning production reliability for customer-facing systems, including on-call, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience delivering and maintaining integrations with third-party partner APIs.
  • Experience setting roadmaps with Product based on business outcomes and delivering quarterly commitments.
  • Experience leading teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Clear communication with engineers and executives about technical trade-offs and risk.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under high customer impact and shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • AdTech, MarTech, or data collaboration experience, such as Conversions API, Customer Match, DSPs, or clean rooms.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Temporal or Cadence.
  • Experience leading a platform shift toward API-first and self-service.
  • Experience applying AI or agentic tools in production or engineering workflows, including MCP.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations applying to consumer data delivery, such as GDPR and CCPA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead approximately 20–25 engineers across Activation Backend, Integration Core, and Integration Feature teams in the US and India.
  • Hire, coach, and develop engineering managers and tech leads.
  • Own the reliability, speed, and cost of pipelines that deliver audience data to destinations.
  • Own the health and roadmap of partner integrations, including integrations with Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTok, DSPs, and cloud platforms.
  • Lead activation and integration incident response from detection through post-incident review, and reduce P0/P1 incident volume.
  • Set technical direction, including migrating workflows to Temporal, expanding self-service capabilities, and owning the reference architecture.
  • Reduce delivery turnaround time and eliminate duplicate data sent to partners as volumes grow.
  • Bring AI to Activation through MCP interfaces and agent-driven workflows for customers and internal teams.
  • Partner with Product, Quality Engineering, Support, and platform teams on priorities, quality gates, and on-call processes.
  • Represent Activation engineering to executives and destination partners' engineering teams.
