About The Position

The Risk Platform team builds and runs Aledade's core risk and diagnosis platform: we own the Risk Engine that generates suspected diagnoses (PDx), performs HCC modeling, and calculates patient risk scores for Medicare and commercial contracts, aiming to make risk assessment accurate and efficient end-to-end. We ingest and blend evidence from multiple sources (rules, external vendors, AI/ML/LLM), manage PDx states and risk scores, and expose them via APIs and UX to Point of Care and Analytics, with responsibilities that include experimentation, integration with 3rd parties, monitoring/alerting, and improving reliability and data quality over time. As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead by being a highly technical leader who delivers high business impact on projects of increasing dependencies and ambiguity. You will lead a team of individual contributors in the development of technology that saves lives and improves mental and physical health for millions of people. At Aledade, we empower primary care physicians with technology to keep their patients healthy, preventing unnecessary hospitalizations.

Requirements

BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required
10+ years of production-level experience as an engineer and technical lead building highly scalable and reliable software.
5+ years of managerial experience building and leading technical engineering teams

Strategic Vision. You have experience crafting and executing a strategic vision for the team. You have connected day-to-day tactics to long-term strategy, ensuring that the team's output aligns with our business goals.
Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, data, etc)
Ability to use data to inform engineering roadmaps and resource allocation.
Planning Prowess. Your background includes translating business objectives into technological roadmaps, aligning short-term actions with long-term strategic goals, and effectively communicating these plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Solid understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). This includes familiarity with core concepts like user stories, sprints, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Bonus: Certified scrum master
You have experience in attracting, hiring, and coaching world-class engineers including performance management
5+ years experience with server-side web technology (eg: Nodejs, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++,Go, JVM). Python preferred.
5+ years experience with frontend web technology (eg: Vue, React, Angular, HTML5 & CSS3). Vue preferred.
Experience with cloud based technologies such as AWS, Azure or google cloud
Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable platform architectures. This includes knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Proven experience leading the design, development, and deployment of robust front-end platforms for web applications.
Ability to prioritize platform features that meet the business needs while maintaining security, scalability, and performance.
(Preferred) Startup experience: Understanding of the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a startup is highly valuable.
