About The Position

This position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion. The role involves expert project planning, coordination, and execution, including completing conceptual design through construction drawing development for multiple small and medium sized standard projects simultaneously. The engineer will create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards, and be responsible for plumbing calculations, design, and layout of equipment and systems on assigned projects. This includes a strong understanding of commercial plumbing applications such as gas piping, waste and vent, domestic water distribution, and kitchen plumbing design. The position requires appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions, proactive communication and coordination with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners, and conducting economic and energy analyses. Field engineering support for project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem-solving is also a key responsibility. The role demands responsibility for the quality of design drawings and models, effective communication with colleagues and project team members, and managing time to meet project schedules and deadlines. Additionally, the Senior Engineer may oversee other design team members and is expected to have a strong understanding of ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant
  • Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of systems and applications
  • Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required
  • Responsible for the quality of design drawings and models
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members
  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
  • Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
