About The Position

LPL Financial LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Developer to design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems using C#, Web API, Angular, and MS SQL Server, ensuring high availability and performance. This role involves creating user-facing presentation tools, collaborating with various teams to design, develop, test, and maintain platforms and their integrations, and working with infrastructure teams to adopt CI/CD toolchains and develop automation processes. The engineer will also design services and data objects to support the UI, ensure project deliverables align with software architecture and business priorities, and participate in all phases of the software engineering life cycle using the SAFe Agile methodology. Responsibilities include enhancing, maintaining, and supporting existing web-based applications, collaborating with business partners and other teams to plan and implement solutions, providing technical troubleshooting and debugging support, developing and implementing scalable core platform components, and assisting with effort estimation. Communication with technical and non-technical groups and maintaining platform technical documentation are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, or closely related occupation.
  • Demonstrated expertise performing full stack development of web applications using .Net Core, Angular 15+, C#, JavaScript, SQL, XML Web Services, and REST APIs with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing and architecting software applications and services for both client-side and server-side.
  • Demonstrated expertise writing, optimizing, and executing complex SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server; utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Visual Studio for setup, configuration, and customization in various development environments; managing version control using Git and Team Foundation Server.
  • Demonstrated expertise writing and executing tests with JavaScript in Postman; using automation features for CI/CD pipelines, and automating deployment processes using CI/CD tools, including Octopus and GitHub Actions.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing all phases of the software development lifecycle using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise creating technical diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and organizational charts using Microsoft Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with conceptual design and rough order of magnitude (ROM) level effort estimation.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical groups to provide product support.
  • Maintain necessary platform technical documentation.
