Neon is seeking a Senior Engineer - Propellers to lead key engineering work across propeller system design, analysis, certification, and production support. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical and aerospace problems, working closely with manufacturing and suppliers, and helping bring high-performance hardware from concept into production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Progressive experience in engineering design, analysis, and development of mechanical or aerospace systems.
  • Understanding of full lifecycle product development, including design, testing, certification, and production support.
  • Ability to define requirements, support compliance planning, and evaluate design alternatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with analytical modeling, aerodynamic CFD analysis, structural modeling, CAD design, engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definition.
  • Strong engineering judgment, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in mechanical systems, aircraft, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in office, lab, manufacturing, and other technical environments as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to comply with export control, ITAR, and related security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Concepting, designing, and introducing a system into production.
  • Supporting or transitioning a design into a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical hands-on experience in prototype, test, manufacturing, or related engineering support environments.
  • Familiarity with propeller systems or rotating mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead critical propeller system engineering work across development, certification, and production support.
  • Help shape technical direction through requirements definition, trade studies, and design evaluation.
  • Improve product performance, manufacturability, and readiness for production.
  • Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve issues and keep programs moving.
  • Work in a fast-paced development environment with meaningful ownership and cross-functional impact.
