About The Position

GHD is seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager with civil and/or structural engineering experience to join its growing waterfront engineering practice in Alaska. The role involves providing technical solutions for maritime and coastal projects through design leadership, project management, client management, and development support. The successful candidate will help build and lead a team, contribute to sophisticated and innovative projects, mentor engineers and technicians, and participate in GHD’s internal leadership team. The position follows a hybrid work model, with three days a week in the office and flexibility for other workdays. The role also includes supporting business development in the Alaska market, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across GHD’s US West region, and maintaining project safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
Eight or more years of engineering or consulting experience.
Attention to detail and the ability to complete diverse assignments.

Responsibilities

Assist with identifying business development opportunities for GHD and assist with or lead proposals in the Alaska market.
Contribute to and manage the development of technical reports, plans, and specifications.
Maintain open communication with project teams throughout GHD’s US West region.
Coordinate and work with cross-discipline teams.
Coach, train, and empower project team members; provide oversight and maintain project safety, quality, and efficiency requirements throughout projects.
Interact with clients, suppliers, and regulators and manage projects to successful completion.
Keep technical qualifications and licenses up to date.
Participate in local committees, action groups, and special interest organizations to develop skills and GHD brand recognition.
Stay current on market trends, client spending, assets, resiliency, and logistics.
