About The Position

Buchart Horn is seeking a Senior Engineer/Project Manager to support the continued growth of our Water Resources Strategic Business Unit in Marlton, NJ. This role is ideal for an experienced Professional Engineer with strong water and/or wastewater experience who enjoys serving as both a technical leader and client-facing project manager. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful municipal and utility projects from planning through construction while helping expand Buchart Horn's Water Resources presence in the Marlton office. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects, support existing clients, develop new client relationships, and help grow the local workload and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Significant water and/or wastewater engineering experience
  • Experience with the planning, design, and/or construction of water or wastewater treatment facilities
  • Strong project management and client relationship experience
  • Experience with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • A growth-oriented mindset and interest in helping expand our Water Resources presence in the Marlton market

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and develop water and wastewater systems, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and collection and distribution systems
  • Perform advanced engineering analyses, system studies, and independent calculations
  • Lead project design from early planning and schematic phases through construction documentation
  • Support permitting efforts and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Review shop drawings, develop specifications, construction cost estimates, and sequencing
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to EITs, interns, and designers
  • Serve as a primary client liaison and build strong, long-term client relationships
  • Oversee project execution, including budgets, schedules, scope, and overall project success
  • Identify opportunities to support existing clients and develop new client relationships in the Marlton market
  • Help grow the Water Resources workload and capabilities within the Marlton office
