Senior Engineer, Probabilistic Risk Assessments - Remote Based
About The Position
This is a US-based remote opportunity for a Senior Engineer in the Risk Analysis team. The role involves performing Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems, evaluating potential vulnerabilities to various risks and hazards. The assessments may support both domestic and international operating plants, as well as new reactors. The engineer will lead and support global project teams, contribute to technical scope execution, and meet schedule and financial objectives. They will also present technical topics to global customers and regulatory bodies, support strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and mentor early-career engineers on PRA fundamentals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with PRA Model development applied to nuclear plants required.
- Knowledge of PWR reactor operations.
- Knowledge of Internal/External Hazards PRAs
- Knowledge of Level 2 PRAs
- Knowledge of Human Reliability Analysis (HRA)
- Knowledge of Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
- Working knowledge of PRA software (CAFTA, RiskSpectrum)
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree, Professional Engineer, or EIT license considered a plus.
- Peer Review experience considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems; evaluating a plant's potential vulnerability to all risk and hazard types (i.e., seismic, fire, flooding, etc.). Assessments may support both domestic and international operating plants, as well as new reactors still in the design phase.
- Lead and support global project teams by contributing to technical scope execution in various roles (author, mentor, verifier), as well as meeting schedule and financial objectives.
- Present technical topics and interface with global customers and regulatory bodies.
- Support and identify strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and pursue target product markets.
- Mentor early-career engineers on PRA fundamentals.
