About The Position

The primary objective of the position is to coordinate the engineering activities and the offshore operations for the pre-commissioning workscope of the projects. The Senior Pre-commissioning Engineer will work in a pre-commissioning team within the engineering department to support subsea projects and tenders. This is an operational and technical position reporting to the Pre-commissioning Team Lead, located in Houston. While on projects, this position shall initially report to the Project Manager and project engineering manager during project engineering phase, and then to the Offshore Construction Manager during the offshore installation phase. The position is located in the Houston Office or in Merida, Mexico and requires local and overseas travel. During the installation phase, offshore work will be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval Architecture or Ocean/Marine Engineering.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Offshore construction and installation experience on shallow water/deepwater projects.
• Strong background and hands-on experience with offshore pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning engineering and project execution.
• Strong experience in pipeline flooding, hydrotesting, cleaning/gauging and dewatering.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Spanish and French language skills.
• Good experience with umbilical monitoring & testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the engineering activities and the offshore operations for the pre-commissioning workscope of the projects.

• Report to the Pre-commissioning Team Lead in Houston.
• Report to the Project Manager and project engineering manager during the project engineering phase.

• Perform offshore work during the installation phase.
