Senior Engineer, P.E. (Transportation)
About The Position
The City of Moreno Valley's Public Works Department is hiring a Senior Engineer, P.E., to support the Transportation Division. This leadership opportunity offers the chance to manage impactful projects, mentor engineering staff, collaborate with regional partners, and help build a safer, more efficient transportation network for years to come. As a Senior Engineer, P.E., you'll lead transportation and traffic engineering initiatives that improve safety, mobility, and connectivity throughout the City. From overseeing roadway and intersection improvement projects to reviewing development proposals and managing capital improvement programs, you'll play a key role in creating transportation solutions that serve residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering or a related engineering discipline OR, equivalent related work experience.
- At least six (6) years of progressively responsible civil, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Current, valid certification as a Professional Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Structural Engineer with the California State Licensing Board.
- A valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities
- Lead transportation and traffic engineering initiatives.
- Oversee roadway and intersection improvement projects.
- Review development proposals.
- Manage capital improvement programs.
- Manage assigned land development or capital improvement projects.
- Perform the most complex professional engineering work.
- Supervise, assign, monitor, and oversee the work of assigned professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
- Assess neighborhood and regional traffic concerns and implement corrective measures to enhance vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety.
- Work closely with regional partners to ensure consistency and uniformity with regional transportation programs.
- Operate and maintain traffic signals and roadway signing and striping.
