About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Microsoft 365 – Exchange Online who wants to shape how a global organization collaborates and communicates. In this role, you’ll join a customer‑focused product team that powers secure, modern, and business‑critical Microsoft 365 collaboration services used by associates and partners worldwide. You’ll lead engineering for Exchange Online and the broader Microsoft 365 platform—including Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot—giving you meaningful ownership, visibility, and the chance to influence long‑term platform direction. By solving complex technical challenges, strengthening governance, and improving performance and resiliency, you’ll directly elevate productivity, collaboration, and user experience across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Extensive Microsoft 365 engineering experience, including deep expertise in Exchange Online administration, mail flow, transport, routing, and enterprise messaging operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API to automate administration, reporting, lifecycle management, and operational remediation in a large-scale Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Proven experience leading or delivering Microsoft 365 messaging solutions in a large global environment, including complex Exchange Online architecture, hybrid dependencies, service resiliency, and operational support models.
  • Experience partnering with security and compliance teams to strengthen Microsoft 365 governance and Zero-Trust principals through Intune, Defender, Purview, eDiscovery, Data Lifecycle Management, DLP, and identity and access controls that support secure collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot and the platform readiness considerations that support secure adoption, including permissions, information governance, and well-managed collaboration data across Microsoft 365.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Places and its integration across Exchange Online, Outlook, and Teams to support modern workplace and hybrid collaboration scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and the Power Platform to streamline Microsoft 365 workflows, improve reporting, or simplify operational processes for support teams and end users.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Exchange Online, Security, or Identity-focused credentials, are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Exchange Online and related Microsoft 365 messaging services to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable communications.
  • Design and manage mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and routing patterns in alignment with Microsoft and industry best practices for enterprise messaging and service reliability.
  • Drive platform improvements across Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams, and adjacent collaboration services to improve end-user productivity, service health, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop technical standards, operational documentation, and transition guidance that improve support readiness, consistency, and knowledge transfer across engineering and operations teams.
  • Provide technical leadership for escalated incidents, root cause analysis, and service improvement efforts, with a focus on reducing disruption and strengthening platform stability.
  • Design self-healing, automated workflows using automation tools PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API to streamline administration, reporting, remediation, and lifecycle management across the Microsoft 365 platform.
  • Works across global teams and partner with security, compliance, and legal teams to implement governance, retention, eDiscovery, and protection capabilities that support secure collaboration and enterprise policy requirements.
  • Support Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness across collaboration and productivity platforms by improving data hygiene, permissions awareness, platform interoperability, and governed user experiences.
  • Analyze collaboration platform usage trends and partner with user experience/adoption teams to improve user adoption and satisfaction, ensuring TJX maximizes ROI from Microsoft 365 investments.
  • Pioneer the implementation of new capabilities like Microsoft 365 Copilot and mentor junior engineers, acting as a key innovator and leader within our team.
