About The Position

Bristol Myers Squibb Company is hiring a(n) Senior Engineer, MES Development (in Devens, MA). This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting the global utilization of Enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (EMES) solution to produce medicine across a digital manufacturing network. The engineer will design, build, test, and deliver standard and custom EMES capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions. Responsibilities also include supporting and administering the EMES solution to minimize manufacturing disruptions, contributing to knowledge management through content generation and mentoring, identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities, and promoting compliance with data integrity and computer system validation requirements and regulations. The role requires identifying changes and their impact on the validated state of the application and underlying infrastructure. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week, and up to 10% domestic travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of post-bachelor’s, progressive, related work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in (which can be gained concurrently): Designing, building, deploying and supporting automation and execution systems such as Syncade, DeltaV, and PI Data historian, in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in (which can be gained concurrently): Creating and executing validation plans, test cases, documentation, and audits within a regulatory industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or manufacturing.
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in (which can be gained concurrently): Contributing to the end-to-end implementation of IT or automation solutions, including post-implementation activities such as troubleshooting and SME-level support to assist the site.
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in (which can be gained concurrently): Applying IT solutions to support and optimize manufacturing operations through the use of IT tools and systems like Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and automation platforms.
  • Three (3) years of experience with/in at least three (3) of the following: Digital manufacturing systems and operations; Material and Inventory modules; Order management; Equipment and instrument integration; Sample management; Patient scheduling system integration; Label printing; General automatic recipe functionality; Custom business recipe capabilities; or Batch reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support the global utilization of Enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (EMES) solution to produce medicine across digital manufacturing network.
  • Design, build, test and deliver standard and custom EMES capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions.
  • Support and administer the EMES solution to minimize manufacturing disruptions and impact to product by overseeing the central and site-level development, test, and production systems.
  • Contribute to knowledge management strategy through content generation and mentoring.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Promote compliance with data integrity and computer system validation requirements and regulations.
  • Identify change and the impact to the validated state of the application and underlying infrastructure.
