Senior Engineer, Materials Quality Engineering

Entegris•Hillsboro, OR
•$85,500 - $125,500

About The Position

Entegris is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Materials Quality Engineering (Supplier Quality) team. The role supports regional suppliers and U.S. manufacturing operations, assessing and managing quality performance, supplier risk, and capability for polyurethane foams, polymeric materials, and related formulated materials used in CMP polishing pads. It supports the Materials Solutions Division and U.S. manufacturing plants, while collaborating with global teammates. The engineer is expected to work autonomously and use sound engineering judgment to lead supplier development, continuous improvement, and quality systems for critical polyurethane foam suppliers. The role works closely with Commodity Management, Operations, R&D, Customer Quality, Business Units, and Procurement to maintain continuity of supply and resolve internal and customer issues involving quality, variability, and contamination control. Responsibilities include leading supplier quality activities; improving supplier performance through corrective actions, audits, capability reviews, and process assessments; supporting qualifications, change management, and risk assessments; and investigating foam quality issues using structured root-cause methods. The engineer will develop and maintain specifications, critical-to-quality requirements, COA expectations, test methods, and quality documentation, and collaborate with suppliers on process improvements, capability studies, control plans, sampling strategies, and advanced quality planning. The position also involves monitoring supplier metrics, participating in continuity planning and risk mitigation, and training suppliers on requirements and quality-system standards. The role requires knowledge of polyurethane foam manufacturing and how process variability affects CMP pad and customer performance. The engineer applies continuous improvement, problem-solving, SPC, and FMEA methods; analyzes complex data to guide decisions; and supports efforts to reduce variation, improve yield and reliability, and strengthen material and product performance. Domestic or international travel of up to 10% is required, as is travel to a local manufacturing plant. Entegris describes a collaborative, values-driven culture that encourages employee input and aims to support employees’ lives inside and outside work. The position does not offer immigration-related sponsorship.
