About The Position

Tyson Foods, Inc. is hiring a Senior Engineer Logistics Data in Springdale, Arkansas. The role architects scalable data solutions, including data warehousing and big data technologies, and aligns them with organizational goals. It designs data architecture for Tyson Private Fleet in partnership with stakeholders and coordinates third-party vendor integrations. The role leads data visualization strategy and works with business stakeholders to prioritize needs and guide development of Power BI reports. It designs and orchestrates complex data pipelines and ETL processes, optimizes data models, and collaborates with IT developers on data ingestion for the Tyson data lake. This includes creating entity relationship diagrams, developing ETL code, and transforming and cleansing data to improve quality and usability. The position implements data governance and security frameworks, optimizes cloud costs, and designs and deploys enterprise-scale data visualization solutions. It works with third-party vendors to evaluate tools and incorporate functionality, resolves complex escalations, and protects sensitive information through data privacy and security practices. The engineer also holds weekly meetings with Tyson Private Fleet, Transportation Safety, and Transportation Operations stakeholders to understand and address current and upcoming visualization needs, automates reporting, and mentors junior engineers and interns in report creation, SQL, scripting, and data visualization. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Business Analytics, Logistics, Data Science, or a related field, and three years of relevant experience. Required experience includes enterprise reporting and analytics using Power BI or Tableau, as well as specified experience with Google BigQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL querying and data modeling, relational databases, automated dashboards, and supporting large software implementations through stakeholder coordination and enterprise-standard data models and visualizations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Business Analytics, Logistics, Data Science, or a related field.
Three years of experience in the position offered or a related role, including developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-level reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI or Tableau.
One year of experience supporting enterprise business intelligence environments on Google BigQuery and Microsoft SQL Server.
One year of experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and data models using SQL Server Management Studio and Google BigQuery.
One year of experience designing and delivering automated dashboards and data visualizations for business decision-making using platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.
One year of experience designing, maintaining, and querying relational databases using SQL Server Management Studio and Google BigQuery.
One year of experience supporting large software implementations by coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and document data requirements, define desired outcomes, and translate business needs into enterprise-standard data models and visualizations.

Responsibilities

Architect scalable data solutions, including data warehousing and big data technologies, aligned with organizational goals.
Partner with stakeholders to design data architecture for Tyson Private Fleet and coordinate integration with third-party vendors.
Lead data visualization strategies and guide development of Power BI reports based on business stakeholder needs and priorities.
Design and orchestrate complex data pipelines and ETL processes, optimizing data models.
Collaborate with IT developers on data ingestion solutions for the Tyson data lake, including creating ERDs, developing ETL code, and transforming and cleansing data.
Implement data governance frameworks and robust data security measures.
Optimize cloud costs through strategic use of cloud resources and efficient data architectures.
Design and deploy enterprise-scale data visualization solutions and optimize their performance.
Work with third-party vendors to incorporate functionality and evaluate tools.
Resolve complex escalations and situations.
Protect sensitive information by adhering to data privacy and security practices.
Conduct weekly meetings with Tyson Private Fleet, Transportation Safety, and Transportation Operations stakeholders to discuss projects and address visualization needs.
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Mentor and support junior engineers and interns in report creation, SQL, scripting, and advanced data visualization techniques.
