About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer II-Quality to join their team. This role involves supporting customers in all business areas with a focus on quality assurance and customer satisfaction. The engineer will be responsible for organizing, writing, and presenting technical reports, tracking failure analysis requests, and communicating status updates to field engineers or customers. A key aspect of this role is supporting specific Key Accounts and addressing customer requirements internally, which may include environmental, reliability, quality, or product-related issues. The position also involves participating in and initiating benchmarking programs to identify best practices and attending business/quality reviews and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years industry/position experience.
  • Strong inter-personnel skills – good communicator/presenter.
  • Ability to interact with sensitivity and awareness to globally and culturally diverse personnel.
  • Flexible and adaptable – willing to travel as required.
  • Technical expertise: application or system level experience.
  • Well organized and structured in their approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous semiconductor market experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor process: Wafer fab &/or Assembly &/or Test, FA Lab.
  • Statistical knowledge (Capability analysis, distributions, data manipulation).
  • Knowledge of Quality problem solving: 8D approach and similar.
  • Familiarity with Automotive and Aerospace industries and standards (AS9100, IATF-16949, 8D, PPAP).

Responsibilities

  • Support customers both reactively and proactively in all business areas with a focus on quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Organize, write, and present technical reports (8Ds, presentations) to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Track failure analysis requests and communicate status updates to field engineers or customers.
  • Support customer requirements and address them internally, including environmental, reliability, quality, or product items, with a specific focus on Key Accounts.
  • Participate in and initiate benchmarking programs to determine best in class.
  • Participate in business/quality reviews and customer meetings as required.
