About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is looking for a qualified Senior I Process Engineer to sustain and improve Fab-4 Thin Films/Chemical Mechanical Polishing processes. This role involves performing tests to enhance yield and reliability, qualifying new processes and equipment, improving cycle time, and reducing costs. The engineer will analyze, summarize, and communicate test results, and support critical quality systems such as PFMEA, SPC, MPSP, MSA, and Sustaining Change Control. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting equipment and process issues, handling rework and disposition of non-conforming product lots, and writing process specifications and reports. The position requires supporting Production as needed, and a knowledge of basic statistics is preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related discipline.
5-6 years of experience in Semiconductor CVD/PVD/CMP process engineering.
Proficiency in written and oral communication.
Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
Initiative to work independently and keep projects on schedule.
Proven reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

Strong background in chemistry.
Semiconductor technology and/or manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of basic statistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sustain and improve Fab-4 Thin Films/Chemical Mechanical Polishing processes.
