Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft O365 software suite.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

  • Familiarity working in the design, development, and regulatory approval of aircraft systems.
  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize both daily issues and strategize longer term projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development and qualification efforts of aircraft evacuation slides.
  • Manages moderate to large sized projects including but not limited to system development and qualification, hardware design, testing, and processing as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and drive robust corrective actions for evacuation slide manufacturing and fielded product.
  • Conceptualizes and prepares preliminary and final detail design and documentation of evacuation systems components and assemblies.
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning and scheduling work.
  • Mentors early career engineers and provide instruction and support to team members
  • Provides engineering material review board (MRB) dispositions for non-conforming products.
  • Coordinates the building and testing of prototypes.
  • Performs financial analysis of a project's design components.
  • Works with Systems Engineer to plan and execute requirements validation and verification and assess impact to qualification basis when design changes are made.
  • Prepares presentations and presents program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program reviews.
  • Leads customer meetings for multiple customers.
  • Ensures successful completion of an assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Executes projects in accordance with the RTX Lifecycle Program Management.
