About The Position

The Senior Engineer is responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations. The Role Seeking a motivated individual to help drive the North America Finished Vehicle Logistics team on new projects and on-going support of outbound finished vehicle network engineering. The Finished Vehicle Logistics team will focus on: Ensuring systems are accurate, Tactical design changes, Cost savings analysis and optimizations, Creative solutions and purchasing support.

Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, or product development (internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
  • Project management skills with proven experience leading projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and sales
  • Expert-level proficiency in analytics tools with ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
  • Data analytics experience (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Data visualization experience (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to drive long-term projects through to completion
  • Must be computer literate and able to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word) as well as MS Project, Vision, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Ability to operate within predictable parameters as well as defined tools and processes with guidance from management

  • Bachelor's degree required in engineering, business or supply chain. A combination of other education and experiences will be considered.
  • Five (5) years or more of relevant work. required
  • Five (5) years or more with data profiling, data mining and statics analysis. required
  • Five (5) years or more in the use of Paragon software or other transportation optimization tools required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field
  • Business process optimization and re-engineering experience

  • Master's degree preferred in industrial engineering or/and MBA

Responsibilities

  • Manage finished vehicle routing and distribution across North America, Mexico, and Canada
  • Validate network performance — Actual vs. Forecast
  • Define transportation methods balancing cost, service, and quality
  • Track impact files before and after network redesigns
  • Model using supply chain optimization tools (e.g., Optilogic)
  • Manage large data sets to perform transportation studies
  • Develop business cases with projected cost savings and volume impact
  • Ensure project alignment and timing with other current and deployed initiatives across logistics
  • Ensure regional/global input is received for all major decisions related to logistics processes and systems
  • Root cause issues to identify initiatives that improve process and cost competitiveness
  • Design and run network modeling tools
  • Apply company methodologies and tools to design distribution and transportation operations including staffing, equipment, sizing and layout.
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis.
  • Determine efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, equipment, and equipment utilization charts.
  • Map and document processes, identify process gaps, make recommendations and implement process improvement.
  • Support business development and help create efficient designs and solutions processes.
  • Participate in customer facing meetings for proposal discussion and business development.
  • Establish and implement performance measures, KPI targets and optimization tools.
  • Develop transportation network design and routing design using the appropriate software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
