About The Position

The Consultant Engineer is responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations. The Role Seeking a motivated individual to help drive the North America Finished Vehicle Logistics team on new projects and on-going support of outbound finished vehicle network engineering The Finished Vehicle Logistics team will focus on: Ensuring systems are accurate Tactical design changes Cost savings analysis and optimizations Creative solutions and purchasing support

Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, or product development (internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
  • Project management skills with proven experience leading projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and sales
  • Expert-level proficiency in analytics tools with ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
  • Data analytics experience (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Data visualization experience (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to drive long-term projects through to completion
  • Bachelor's degree required Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
  • Four (4) years or more related work experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field
  • Business process optimization and re-engineering experience
  • Logistics software experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Industrial Engineering and/or Masters Degree
  • Total Work Systems (TQM) Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Responsibilities

  • Manage finished vehicle routing and distribution across North America, Mexico, and Canada
  • Validate network performance — Actual vs. Forecast
  • Define transportation methods balancing cost, service, and quality
  • Track impact files before and after network redesigns
  • Model using supply chain optimization tools (e.g., Optilogic)
  • Manage large data sets to perform transportation studies
  • Develop business cases with projected cost savings and volume impact
  • Ensure project alignment and timing with other current and deployed initiatives across logistics
  • Ensure regional/global input is received for all major decisions related to logistics processes and systems
  • Root cause issues to identify initiatives that improve process and cost competitiveness
  • Design and run network modeling tools
  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis
  • Maps and documents processes.
  • Recommends and implements process improvement
  • Establishes and implements performance measures
  • Manages small and medium size projects
  • Conducts Supply Chain and/or inventory analysis
  • Re-designs and/or re-engineers logistics processes
  • Supports business development and creates efficient designs and solutions
  • Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, driver and equipment utilization charts
  • Applies company methodologies and tools to design transportation operations
  • Confers with the Engineering and Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools
  • Assists in the development and delivery of presentations to customers as part of the sales team effort
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
