About The Position

Greenbrook Medical is seeking its first dedicated data professional to build upon and enhance its existing data platform. This role involves ensuring consistent performance, expanding the metric library, and enabling operators to monitor performance across all key areas. The Data and Analytics Engineer will have end-to-end ownership, from the data platform to metric delivery and visualization in dashboarding tools. This is a build-and-own position where the engineer will take ownership of systems as they are transitioned from an engineering partner, harden them, and continuously improve them. The role requires close partnership with the population health team to define metrics and understand business needs, reporting directly to the VP of Growth and Population Health. The position is based in New York City (Hybrid) with flexibility for exceptional remote candidates.

Requirements

  • Fluency in dbt and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare datasets and interoperability frameworks (claims, eligibility, EHR data, FHIR, HL7).
  • Solid grasp of business fundamentals to partner with business and clinical managers on metric definition.
  • Experience owning production systems, including responding to incidents.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the analytics layer, including building and maintaining dbt models and business logic for metrics and workflows.
  • Work within Google Cloud to iterate on business logic and transformation infrastructure.
  • Ensure consistency in metric definitions across all company surfaces.
  • Collaborate with performance managers to define measurement needs and success criteria.
  • Take ownership of production systems transitioned from the engineering partner, ensuring their health and integrity.
  • Be accountable for uptime and system integrity, resolving ingestion and pipeline issues or logic bugs within SLAs.
  • Develop monitoring and uptime reporting for production systems.
  • Ensure system performance, optimizing workloads and runtime.
  • Continuously improve transitioned systems beyond basic maintenance.
  • Act as the internal counterpart for the engineering partner, resolving issues directly and escalating when necessary.
  • Build dashboards to support organizational decision-making.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, attending operating meetings to understand data usage and decision-making processes.
