About The Position

Entegris is currently seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Controls Engineering team. This position will be based in our Burnet facility. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and find ways to continuously improve the performance of manufacturing systems. You will use strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with both suppliers and customers to achieve success.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering or applicable degree is desired.
  • Chemical manufacturing or semiconductor controls experience.
  • Experience with Chemical Synthesis and Distillation preferred.
  • Experience in PLC/HMI programming on both Allen Bradley and Omron.
  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC-500, PowerFlexVFD, PanelView HMI, and Stratix switches.
  • Omron CJ series PLC, Omron NS and NT series HMIs.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley RSView32, Panelbuilder32, FactoryTalk View, RSLogix, and RSLInx programming packages.
  • Experience with Omron CX-One, and NT series support tool software packages.
  • Function Block (FB) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) programming experience preferred.
  • Allen Bradley PlantPAX programming experience preferred.
  • Allen Bradley LBSM programming experience desired.
  • Networking experience with Ethernet, RS-232, and RS-485 communications.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and OPC servers.
  • Visual Basic programming experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with AC/DC power distribution, control/pneumatic; cabinet designs and layouts, to include electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with Pressure, Vacuum, Temperature, Level, Flow and Weight Instrumentation.
  • Ability to use a multimeter to troubleshoot AC/DC circuits.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Capability of working independently.
  • Skills to influence cross functionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to present technical data.
  • Ability to produce results when facing deadlines or commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a “Safety First” culture by performing equipment, process, and behavioral inspections and implementing solutions to risks.
  • Contribute to the direction of the department in partnership with other senior members of the staff and management.
  • Respond to internal customer concerns in a professional and technically competent manner to gain trust and confidence in our engineering strength.
  • Hands on troubleshooting of tactical issues with the manufacturing of our products and mentoring at all levels to push learning to factory personnel.
  • Lead projects to expand manufacturing capacity, transition products to high volume manufacturing, or implement continuous improvements to existing products.
  • Responsible for control system documentation and initial operational procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to current manufacturing control systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley & Omron PLCs along with HMIs.
  • Conduct design reviews for new equipment and modification to existing systems; Create, read, and red line electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
  • Validate and implement new software revisions with minimal impact on manufacturing.
  • Develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the manufacturing floor through automation.
  • Manage overall site PLC project list while utilizing contractor support as needed.
  • 10% domestic and international travel in support of various engineering projects.
