The Advanced Program section within GE Aerospace’s Edison Works division is responsible for the development, design, testing, vehicle integration, and support of engine inlet and exhaust system technologies for new engine concepts and development programs. Technology focus areas include augmentors, exhaust nozzles, High Speed flows, advanced engine inlet and exhaust systems, aero-thermal system optimization, integrated power-thermal management systems, and advanced material systems; all supporting the mission of delivering breakthrough propulsion technologies for advanced military applications. The Advanced Program Aerodynamics Senior Engineer is responsible for technical leadership through all aspects of conceptual synthesis, technology development, detailed aerodynamic design, platform integration, and testing of advanced military propulsion technologies with a primary focus on augmentors, exhaust nozzles, and inlet systems. This role drives conceptual through detailed aerodynamic design utilizing flow path layout tools, computational fluid dynamics methods for reacting and non-reacting flows, experimental rig development, and full engine test support. All activities require close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to mature technologies from early concept through fielded solutions for advanced military applications. Operating in a mission-based, fast-paced environment, the Senior Engineer provides technical leadership to both small focused and larger cross-functional teams for delivering innovative propulsion systems, and integrated power-thermal management systems that continually advance the future of military aviation.
