About The Position

RingCentral is seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to join its Legal team as a contractor. The role provides practical, business-focused legal advice on a broad range of employment matters in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The counsel partners with HR, leadership, and cross-functional teams to manage risk, support compliance, and help the business scale effectively.

RingCentral is a global business communications company whose platform includes business phone, SMS, contact center, workforce engagement management, video collaboration, and messaging, supported by an agentic voice AI portfolio.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least 3 years of experience practicing U.S. employment law at a nationally recognized law firm and/or in-house.
• Broad-based employment law expertise across areas such as employee relations, compliance, and investigations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice To Haves

• Colorado or California state bar membership preferred.
• In-house experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise on domestic and international employment and labor law matters, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, accommodations, wage and hour, investigations, and terminations.
• Draft, review, and update employment-related agreements, policies, and templates to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Manage and advise on internal investigations, employment-related claims, demand letters, audits, and administrative complaints.
• Partner with HR and business leaders to evaluate and implement employment practices, policies, and processes.
• Manage employment litigation matters in collaboration with internal and external counsel.
• Support global employment and immigration initiatives.
