About The Position

A premier global law firm is seeking a Senior Emerging Technologies & Data Privacy Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising innovative companies on cutting-edge privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology matters.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or regulatory counseling gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience advising clients regarding U.S. and international privacy laws, including consumer privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity compliance
  • Experience counseling clients on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, digital products, and technology commercialization
  • Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, technology agreements, software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, privacy policies, and related commercial contracts
  • Strong drafting, analytical, problem-solving, and client counseling skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience advising clients regarding data breaches, incident response, cybersecurity preparedness, and regulatory investigations is preferred
  • Experience counseling clients on FTC, state privacy laws, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other evolving privacy regulations is a plus
