About The Position
A premier global law firm is seeking a Senior Emerging Technologies & Data Privacy Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising innovative companies on cutting-edge privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology matters.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or regulatory counseling gained at a sophisticated law firm
- Experience advising clients regarding U.S. and international privacy laws, including consumer privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity compliance
- Experience counseling clients on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, digital products, and technology commercialization
- Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, technology agreements, software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, privacy policies, and related commercial contracts
- Strong drafting, analytical, problem-solving, and client counseling skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction
- Excellent academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
Nice To Haves
- Experience advising clients regarding data breaches, incident response, cybersecurity preparedness, and regulatory investigations is preferred
- Experience counseling clients on FTC, state privacy laws, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other evolving privacy regulations is a plus
